About
Shashwat Kumar

I have spent 15+ years leading analytics and AI across financial services, insurance and telecom/media: building data teams, KPI frameworks and customer models, and the governance that keeps them honest.
Today I lead business intelligence and analytics at a private-sector bank in Mumbai. Before that I headed advanced analytics and digital lending strategy at a retail lender (NBFC) and analytics at a health insurer, with earlier roles in commercial planning and analytics in satellite TV/media, and in telecom and technology.

This is a personal site. Views are my own and do not represent my employer.
What I care about
Measurement that reflects real value rather than whatever is easiest to count. Automation designed with its brakes in mind. Data that is boring: consistent, documented and trusted. And simple answers, when the simple answer is good enough.
I still work hands-on in SQL and Python. The essays here are where I think out loud.
Code
Small open-source demos on synthetic data. They show methods only and contain no employer data.
- bank-analytics-agent: a tool-calling agent that turns a plain-English question into guarded, read-only SQL, then returns an answer and a chart
- churn-propensity-model: gradient boosting against a logistic baseline, with SHAP and decile lift
- credit-risk-scorecard: a WoE/IV PD scorecard with AUC, KS and calibration
